About Me
Driven by a desire to guide students toward their best-fit colleges, Jay McCann, a Certified Educational Planner (CEP) brings a unique blend of expertise in highly selective admissions, financial aid, international colleges, and athletic recruitment.
He earned his Master's in Counseling from San Diego State University and began his career in financial aid at Point Loma Nazarene University before spending a decade guiding students in diverse Colorado high schools. As Department Chair of Counseling at George Washington High School, he led college counseling initiatives and was nominated for Colorado School Counselor of the Year for his commitment to student success.
Jay later transitioned to Colorado's Valor Christian High School and now The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia, where he provides personalized college guidance tailored to students' diverse aspirations. In addition to his work in schools, he also leads Future to Find College Consulting, his private practice dedicated to helping students navigate the admissions process.
An active leader in both the Atlanta college counseling community and national professional organizations (both national and regional parts of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, particularly the Rocky Mountain and Southern affiliates, as well as the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools), Jay frequently presents on topics related to admissions and financial aid. He also serves on multiple college advisory boards and coordinates the largest College Fair in Georgia.
