After graduating from Harvard College with honors, Orietta earned her M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also holds a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Orietta received her Certificate in College Counseling with distinction from UCLA and completed the College Advising Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is trained in the WOW college essay writing methodology and has received her MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) certification, the most widely used personality assessment for professionals and students. Orietta is a member of both the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).
Prior to founding Barletta Education, Orietta served as Assistant Director in the Office of Career Services at Harvard Law School and as Director in the Office of Career Services at Stanford Law School. She also taught Legal Research and Writing as a Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center and as an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University Law School. Earlier in her career, Orietta worked in professional education and as an attorney at law firms in New York.
Born and raised in Boston, Orietta attended Boston Latin School. As a first-generation college student growing up in a home where English was not the primary language, Orietta appreciates the challenges and opportunities facing students of diverse socio-economic and demographic backgrounds.
