Elyse graduated from Northwestern University (Go 'Cats!) as a pre-med psychology and global health student. She scored in the 92nd percentile on the MCAT, and then jetted off to India as an AIF Clinton Fellow to work in public health. Things took a hard left turn when she accidentally fell into hosting a TV show at NDTV-HINDU and reconnected with her innermost passion: storytelling. Elyse has since worked as an actor at theaters around the U.S. and is working now on a script of her own. Elyse brings the joy and curiosity of storytelling to tutoring. She finds it's often the key to whetting a student's appetite for a difficult subject. ("Why is this science concept important? Who came up with it and why? What would I ever use this for?") She also makes a point to celebrate mistakes and the lessons learned from them. She enjoys working with neurodivergent students and is very capable at handling students with "math trauma." Past students have gone on to UCSB, NYU, and Stanford. Elyse is always honored to be a part of her students' journeys.
