About Me

Barbara Pasalis graduated with honors from Ohio Wesleyan University with a major in psychology, and is one of a small percentage of counselors nationwide to hold a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension, in addition to completing IECA's Summer Training Institute. She launched Northcoast Educational Consulting in 2003, and in 2010 became one of fewer than 150 counselors nationwide to earn the Certified Educational Planner (CEP) designation.

In 2011, Barbara was elected to IECA's Board of Directors, later serving as Vice President for Ethics and then Vice President for Committees, and now serves on its Education & Training Committee. She's visited over 250 colleges and universities, meeting directly with admissions officials to stay current on programs, trends, and scholarship opportunities, and belongs to IECA, NACAC, OACAC, and SACAC. She's authored a "College Knowledge" column for the Sun Newspapers, been quoted in the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Continental Magazine, and was featured in a 2008 WKYC-TV news segment titled "College Coach." A former middle and high school English teacher, she brings over 20 years of experience working with adolescents to her practice.
