About Me

Throughout his career, Karl has helped hundreds of students successfully navigate the college preparation, search and admissions process, and his expertise has helped students gain admission to over 150 different institutions, including dozens of highly selective colleges and universities in the USA.

Karl is an AICEP Certified Educational Planner (CEP) as well as a licensed educator and school administrator. He is also a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultant’s Association (IECA) and a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). Karl earned his bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education, and a Specialized Certificate in College Counseling from the University of California San Diego.

Since founding Academic Angle in 2014, Karl has visited over 140 college campuses around the country to personally understand their culture, selection criteria and to meet with admissions personnel. In addition to working with domestic applicants, Karl specializes in working with international students from Europe and Asia.
