About Me

Sara Baskin, raised by a third-generation farmer in a small upstate New York town, learned the value of a strong work ethic early on. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Rochester — starting out pre-med before discovering, through volunteer work at the university's Health Promotion Office, a genuine passion for education while leading seminars on student well-being.

Sara went on to earn a Master of Science from St. John Fisher University focused on Math, Science, and Technology Education. Beyond the classroom, she's mentored new teachers, collaborated on interdisciplinary projects, helped update curriculum for New York State's Science Learning Standards, and led science clubs to help spark students' interest in STEM. She believes every student's journey is unique, and takes time to understand each one's strengths, aspirations, and challenges to build a plan tailored to them. Outside of work, Sara volunteers with her local youth baseball program and organizes donation drives for her local VA hospital, and treasures time with her husband, three teenage boys, and their dog.
