About Me

College admissions has been my passion since before I knew it. What I did know at a very young age was that I wanted to impact the lives of teenagers. I first thought that becoming a famous actress would be my path to making a difference, but after leaving my small town in upstate New York to make The Big Apple my new home, I realized that performing arts was not the route I would take to become a changemaker. Instead, I pursued my bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology and I continued my education to receive my MS Ed. in Bilingual School Counseling.

Accepting a position as the founding school counselor at a high school in Brooklyn, New York, I went on to build the college-going culture and college program at this brand-new high school. In addition, I founded and ran the school's first National Honor Society and poured my passion for performing arts into the school community as the sponsor of the Choir Club.

Moving on from that position, I became the school counselor at a high school in upstate New York and eventually found my way back to New York City as the Director of College Counseling at a high school in Manhattan. Coaching students into some of the most selective colleges and universities in the country, connecting with admissions offices throughout the country, and presenting at national college access and education conferences in St. Louis, Indianapolis, and New York City, I knew I found my calling. I dedicated my time and expertise to The Gates Foundation, reading and interviewing Gates Scholarship candidates–gaining valuable insight on scholarship winners–and on the admission 'side of the desk' I worked with New York University reviewing applications and making decisions on the applicant pool. Outside of working directly with students and parents in Miami and New York, I have also coached counselors and advisors in schools in New York City, Los Angeles, & St. Louis, to help them learn the ins and outs of college admission counseling.
