I am an independent coach and consultant focused on supporting educational advancement, career success, and community development. When I am not working or serving in my community, I’m home baking with my family.

About Me

My upbringing was defined by education and service, with parents who were teachers and volunteers. By the time I finished high school, I knew I was meant to serve in some way in education and community development. After a short stint working at a community foundation supporting non-profits, I pursued international education, helping students study in a country other than their own. That led to helping them navigate their own community service and career paths while succeeding in their academic programs.

Today, I am able to pursue a variety of my passions as an independent coach and consultant. I’m especially dedicated to helping youth explore their post high school options, to helping individuals grow in their professional skills and career paths, and to helping improve quality of life in my own community through placemaking projects.

Some Accomplishments
Project Management
I am extremely proud to be a co-founder of the Putnam County Mural Project, which supports the expansion of public murals throughout the county. In five years, we have installed 13 murals across Putnam County, Indiana. I am also proud to be the founder of the Winter Wonderland Lights Festival, working collaboratively with the city parks department to host a free winter lights event. In five years, we’re now able to hang nearly 500,000 lights across Robe Ann Park in Greencastle, Indiana.

Fundraising
As part of the Putnam County Mural Project and the Winter Wonderland Lights Festival, I’ve helped raise funds to make these events possible. I’ve also been part of smaller fundraising projects as part of the Greencastle Civic League and 100 Women Who Care of Putnam County. As a volunteer, since 2014 I’ve helped raise over $465,000 through local and state/federal grants, as well as direct asks, to support local civic projects in Putnam County, Indiana.

Career Coaching
I have formal training in career coaching through the National Association of Colleges and Employers, with over 15 years of experience working with college students. For six years, I’ve been a career coach to adults pursuing technical certifications. I also maintain certification as a National Online Profile Expert (LinkedIn) through membership in the National Resume Writers Association.

Talent Development
As a member of the Association for Talent Development, I stay abreast of current issues and strategies for workplace success. I am currently working towards formal certification in talent development to improve my ability to support workplace training, employee learning, and organizational success. As part of this, I’ve participated in training workshops such as When Everyone Leads through the Kansas City Leadership Center.

Management
I have over 20 years managing people, programs, and administrative units. Over that time, I’ve managed budgets over $2million, a staff of up to 16 individuals, and led strategic planning and assessment initiatives. I’ve participated in leadership management training with the Center for Creative Leadership. I’ve also attended a certification program for small business development through the Indiana Small Business Development Center, which helped me conceptualize two small businesses.

Educational Coaching
With 17 years in a university setting providing academic advising, career coaching, and post-graduation support, I’ve worked with hundreds of students from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. I’m particularly proud of working with students pursuing competitive awards, such as the Fulbright, resulting in 7 years of recognition as a top producer of recipients. I’ve recently pursued training through the Independent Education Consultants Association to work with high school students applying to college.
