About Me

Catherine has nearly two decades of experience in the college admissions field. She has an in-depth understanding of both how applications are evaluated and of the personal and intellectual qualities admissions officers are seeking in their applicants. She has a Masters in School Counseling from USD, has acted as an essay reviewer for UCSD, and served as the County Chair for the Duke University Alumni Admissions Committee for a decade. She’s a parent of twin daughters who graduated from college in 2018 and a son who graduated in 2013, which gives her a wealth of personal experience and compassion to work with her students and their families. When Catherine isn’t watching Duke basketball games or going on college tours, she is taking her Mini Australian Shepherds, Blue and JJ, on walks.

Ed is a Navy Veteran and has been coaching for nearly two decades, starting as a Sailing Instructor, progressing to training Navy helicopter pilots, and currently works for Booz Allen as an Agile Coach. He’s always had a passion for coaching. His teaching style emphasizes developing empathetic connections and teaching translatable skills that set up students for sustained success. While he wrapped up his flying career, he earned his MBA from UCLA Anderson. Ed has conducted alumni interviews for Duke University for a decade and has learned the ins and outs of what top universities are looking for in their applicants. In his free time, he watches Law & Order SVU with his wife and takes his dog, Chase, on various adventures in San Diego.
