My academic coursework and experience provide me with perspective and tools to work with a diverse population of students on college access, transition, and success. I lecture on relevant topics and work individually on college and applications with families in the US, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

About Me

I hold a Masters degree from Columbia University, School of Social Work, with a major in Program Development. My thesis on College Access and Retention for First Generation Students has been published in the Journal for Higher Education and gained much recognition. I have worked with students and parents since 2007, advising them on high school matters, college applications and transition to college, college success and career orientation.

I served as Director of College Programs at Yonkers Partners in Education, a non-profit organization in New York, and Dean of High School Partnerships and Academic Initiatives at the State University of New York. In both organizations, I was responsible for college transition, persistence and completion. I have lectured extensively in the US and internationally, on topics such as Post-secondary Options, Financial Aid, College Admissions for International Students, College Options for Students with Learning Disabilities, and College Persistence for Minority Students.

With my past experience and my vision I founded Weil College Advising, a boutique college advising firm in Westchester, NY, and surrounded myself with the best team of specialists. Our reach has organically grown and our work expanded into Latin America, Asia and Europe, where we guide students who aspire to attend college in the United States.

I have completed the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) Training Institute and the advanced seminars for college consultants at the Goddard Foundation in New York City. I am a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), and the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA). As a seasoned member of these organizations I regularly train and mentor independent educational consultants on best practices, college selection and advising student with learning differences.

I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to New York in 1994. My five sons have grown and flown the nest, and we remained in Westchester, NY, with our two dogs, Paco and Manel.
