Barbara Shore graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and earned a master’s degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from New College of California.

Barbara began her career as an education writer and researcher, working with many high-profile companies and organizations to shape their educational policies and communications.

Turning her attention to individual students, she launched a practice that focused on bolstering students’ writing, critical-thinking and test-taking skills. After many requests to help students with college essays, Barbara spent several years researching and studying the college admissions process, and expanded her practice to include college admissions consulting.

For the past 18 years, Barbara has successfully combined every facet of her background–state-of-the-art educational knowledge, expertise as a professional writer/researcher, and graduate-level training in counseling–to help students navigate the college admissions process and launch satisfying and successful college careers.

In addition to working with individual students, Barbara leads college admissions and college essay workshops and is available to speak to parent and school groups on a range of related topics.
