About Me

Brandon Mack is a college admissions professional, educator, and entrepreneur with 13 years in the field. He most recently served as Interim Director of Operations at the International Association for College Admission Counseling, and previously as Associate Director of Admission and Coordinator of Transfer Admission at Rice University, where he worked on international recruitment across Africa, domestic recruitment strategy, and counselor relationships — along with minority recruitment initiatives and community-based partnerships.

Brandon has since founded his own consulting business, B. Mack Strategies, offering guidance on college admissions as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion work and meeting facilitation. He's also an active community organizer and researcher, whose work on social equity issues has been featured in a GLAAD Media Award-winning article and presented at national conferences, and who served as a lead organizer with Black Lives Matter Houston and on the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus and Mayor's LGBTQ+ Advisory Board.
