About Me

I have a PhD in Cognitive Studies in Education from the University of Pittsburgh, am a former high school social studies teacher and have completed the UCLA College Counseling Certificate with distinction. I helped train teachers to teach the AP Human Geography course as a College Board consultant and was an exam reader. I'm a certified Highlands Ability Battery Consultant and can help students and adults identify their natural talents and abilities along with the environment that will best suit them. I've also been extensively trained in the College Essay Guy methodology and can help with college essays. In addition to being a member of IECA, PNACAC and SACC, I frequently tour college campuses, attend conferences and professional development workshops to learn about the latest in college admissions trends, and identify best fit colleges along a host of parameters identified by the student. My approach is based on authenticity and helping students to gain increased self-awareness.
