Deborah earned her law degree at Wake Law School and., in recent years, has been a freelance editor for PhD dissertations, manuscripts for publishing, and more.


She has over ten years of experience in high-level academic editing. She has terrific insight into the voice and structure of an extraordinary admission and scholarship essay for the undergraduate level.


Editing is typically arranged by sending her the link to the Google or Word doc. Then, Deborah reviews it while the student is in School and emails back the edited version, full of suggestions, corrections, and feedback. She can do a re-edit once the student has revised the draft.


We believe it is much more fair and appropriate only to charge the same hourly rate for editing as we would for any of our services ($95/hr) rather than the typical method of the industry, which is to charge exorbitant rates by the word count. In our system, stronger essays need less editing and will cost less. Our method saves clients over 50% of other editing services and provides superior results.
