About Me

Ed McCarthy, a Navy veteran, has spent nearly two decades coaching in various forms — starting as a sailing instructor, training Navy helicopter pilots, and now working as an Agile Coach for Booz Allen. His teaching style centers on building empathetic connections and teaching translatable skills that set students up for lasting success.

Ed earned his MBA from UCLA Anderson while wrapping up his flying career, and has conducted alumni interviews for Duke University for a decade, giving him real insight into what top universities look for in applicants. In his free time, he watches Law & Order: SVU with his wife and takes his dog, Chase, on adventures around San Diego.
