A Certified Educational Planner and one of only six in Ohio to hold that credential, Alison spent 15 years in Ohio State's graduate admissions office before moving into private consulting.

About Me

Alison Merzel is a Chicago native and Northwestern graduate (Communications and Spanish) who built her career in advertising before shifting into higher education after a move to Columbus, Ohio. A growing interest in career coaching and staff development led her to a graduate degree in Human Resources at Ohio State's Fisher College of Business, and from there into 15 years in graduate business admissions at Ohio State — most recently as Senior Director of Graduate Recruiting & Admissions.

Alison holds the Certified Educational Planner (CEP) designation — only the sixth consultant in Ohio to earn it — and is affiliated with IECA, NACAC, OACAC, GMAC, and several other professional organizations. She's a mother of three, plus an Australian Labradoodle named Marvin and a Cavapoo puppy named Toby.
