Outside of work, Fatima spends her time at the gym, and learning new musical instruments.
About Me
Raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Fatima's academic journey began at McMaster University, where she diligently pursued both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Subsequently, she furthered her academic pursuits at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, in 2020.
During her time at the University of Ottawa, Fatima's dedication as a student was recognized through a prestigious fellowship offered by the Centre of Technology, Law, and Society. Under this program, she had the privilege of collaborating closely with the esteemed Dr. Michael Geist, the Canadian Chair of Internet and E-commerce Law. This experience provided her with a global perspective as she actively contributed to significant international initiatives. Notably, she played a pivotal role in recommending bylaws for Cambodia's first e-marketplace, a commendable state-led initiative known as cambodiatrade.com. Additionally, she contributed her expertise to provide analysis and recommendation of a bilateral free-trade agreement for the Government of Sri Lanka.
Concurrently with her academic pursuits, Fatima demonstrated her entrepreneurial acumen by establishing an AI Startup during her first year of law school. She was inspired in her in contracts law class, which led to the creation of an innovative AI software designed to streamline research and review processes for both students and professionals. This entrepreneurial venture was further highlighted when she was invited to CBC's Dragons' Den, where her pitch captured the attention of investors, resulting in an investment offer.
