Sidney’s volunteer experiences exemplify his commitment to community service. He serves on the Council of African Canadian Education (CACE) board to advise the provincial minister of education on African Nova Scotian youth education matters, working towards equal opportunities for academic advancement. Furthermore, Sidney actively contributes to enhancing youth education in STEM as a volunteer board member of the Discovery Centre in Halifax. His involvement in the Promoting Leadership in Health for African Nova Scotians (PLANS) Advisory Committee at Dalhousie University has proven instrumental in advising the Deans of Dentistry, Health, and Medicine on programs that drive increased student enrollment and improved health outcomes for African Nova Scotians. He previously served on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee for the faculty of Engineering to improve campus engagement and student and faculty relationships.

About Me


Sidney Idemudia is a highly accomplished individual with a remarkable academic background and a strong commitment to empowering others through education and advocacy. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2014, laying a solid foundation in the technical aspects of the field. Recognizing the importance of comprehensive business knowledge, Sidney obtained an MBA from Cornell University and Queens University in 2023. This dual-degree program enabled him to develop a strategic mindset and acquire the necessary skills to lead organizations effectively. Sidney is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), equipping him with the skills to effectively plan, execute, and deliver complex projects.

For seven years, Sidney served as the Executive Director of Imhotep's Legacy Academy (ILA) at Dalhousie University, a non-profit organization focused on increasing the representation of people of African heritage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) studies and careers. Under his leadership, ILA has made significant strides in breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity in STEM education and careers. In 2014, Sidney embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by founding SeeMeNow Apparel, a socially conscious fashion-forward brand. In 2019, he established the Mudia Innovation Center to provide Nigerian youths with the educational support necessary for academic success and career development.
