Dr. Meeks earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Memphis, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University, a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, and a Certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell University.

About Me

Dr. Renee C. Meeks is an educator, mentor, and public speaker with over 20 years of experience in education. Her career spans classroom instruction, leadership, and non-profit educational outreach. Dr. Meeks earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Memphis, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University, and Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Meeks has received numerous educational awards. She was selected as an ASCD Emerging Leader in 2015, Health Physical Education & Lifetime Wellness Principal of the Year in 2016, received the Robert Terrell Caring and Compassion Educator Principal of the Year Award in 2017, and was a Shelby County Schools Principal of the Year Nominee in 2019.

She enjoys spending time with her family and serving as a mentor. She believes that relationships are key and that school should provide a safe and nurturing environment where students and adults grow and flourish.
