A Fortune 500 talent-management veteran turned Penn State PhD, Dr. Hermenitt pioneered the Youth Individual Development Planning Model in 2015.

About Me

Dr. Lin Gao Hermenitt has worked in education for more than 20 years — from teaching Applied Chemistry at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, to leading organizational development and talent management for Fortune 500 companies including Motorola and Corning across Greater China and Asia Pacific, to serving as an MBA career coach at Shanghai Jiaotong University and East China University of Science and Technology.

In 2015, Dr. Hermenitt pioneered the Youth Individual Development Planning Model, helping students build a unique competitive advantage by discovering their own talents and strengths, paired with access to top U.S. resources. She regularly attends NACAC, HECA, and IECA conferences, building deep relationships with admissions officers and staying current on evolving admissions policies. She also visits U.S. junior and senior high schools several times a year, talking directly with students to better advise the families she works with — in 2021, her expertise led to an invitation to train the entire college guidance department at Interlochen Arts Academy. In 2023, she co-founded and now serves as CEO of Blue Torch's sister company in Shenzhen. Dr. Hermenitt holds a Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development from Penn State, an M.B.A. from Nankai University, and a B.S. in Applied Chemistry from Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical Technology.
