About Me

Susan Fischer's path into college counseling feels like a natural extension of her upbringing — she grew up two blocks from The College of Wooster's campus in a small Ohio college town, the daughter of a sociology professor, attending classes, sporting events, and getting to know faculty and staff from an early age. As an undergraduate at DePauw University, she studied psychology and worked in the Writing Center, then went on to counsel students and interview admissions applicants as a graduate student in Counseling Psychology at Northwestern.

Susan began her career as a financial aid counselor and later transfer admissions counselor at Ohio State, before returning to her hometown as Assistant Director of Admissions at The College of Wooster, where she traveled across multiple states counseling students on admissions. After moving back to central Ohio in 2008, she volunteered helping seniors with college essays and reading applications for Ohio Wesleyan, before becoming an independent college admissions consultant in 2014. A member of NACAC and OACAC, she genuinely loves helping students understand the college process and tell their unique stories through their essays.
