About Me

Supporting students and families through the college process is the natural evolution of Susan's experiences and background. She grew up in a small college town in northeast Ohio, the daughter of a sociology professor at The College of Wooster. Her family lived two blocks from Wooster’s campus, so she was fortunate enough to spend her early years sitting in on her dad’s classes, attending sporting and cultural events on campus, and getting to know the College’s professors, administrators, and staff. The college setting truly was her home.

As an undergraduate at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, Susan studied psychology and worked in the Writing Center, assisting students with their academic papers. Later, as a graduate student in Counseling Psychology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, she counseled undergraduate and graduate students, worked with Engineering students to prepare them for professional interviews, and worked part-time in the Office of Admissions interviewing prospective students and reading/evaluating admissions applications.

Susan's professional career began at The Ohio State University, where she first served as a financial aid counselor in the Student Financial Aid office, and later as an admissions counselor in the Transfer Admissions area. She then had the wonderful opportunity to return to her hometown and serve as Assistant Director of Admissions at The College of Wooster. As an admissions officer at Wooster, Susan traveled to high schools in central Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, and Florida, meeting with and counseling students on the admissions process and The College of Wooster. She also interviewed prospective students, evaluated admissions applications, and planned visit programs for high school juniors.

In 2008, Susan's family moved back to central Ohio and she began volunteering in the New Albany High School College Center, helping seniors with their college essays. She also read and evaluated admissions applications for Ohio Wesleyan University. In 2014, Susan began working as an independent college admissions consultant, assisting students with their college searches and/or their college admissions essays. She truly loves working with high school students, helping them better understand and manage the college process and tell their unique stories through their college essays.

Susan is a member of NACAC and OACAC, and adheres to NACAC’s Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission.
