Dr. Perretta discovered her love of learning at Dartmouth before earning a Cornell PhD, and has completed 18 triathlons including nine 70.3 Ironmans.

About Me

Dr. Laura Perretta discovered her love of learning through her own exceptional education — as a Dartmouth undergraduate, she spent a trimester studying archaeology and history in Greece, won the botany award for genetic research, and earned high honors in molecular biology, biochemistry, and classics, before completing her PhD in biochemistry and structural biology at Cornell's Medical College, focused on computational biology.

Laura shares that same enthusiasm today as a volunteer at Chicago's Field Museum of Natural History, while learning Ancient Greek to someday read the Iliad in its original language and pursuing endurance sports (18 triathlons and counting, including nine 70.3 Ironmans and a full Ironman in Wisconsin). Having labored over her own college and graduate applications, she understands firsthand the stress of a competitive admissions process, and draws on her decade-plus of experience — plus years as a Dartmouth alumni interviewer — helping hundreds of students successfully navigate admission to top U.S. colleges.
