About Me
Build Brilliant was founded in January 2024 by Hannah Deisinger, a former public high school counselor and Assistant Director of Admissions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Hannah is a graduate of Brandeis University and earned her Master’s of Professional School Counseling from Sage Graduate School.
As a school counselor, Hannah witnessed the stress surrounding the college process and that many of her students, even high-achievers, were not prepared for the college process, let alone the challenges of college academic life. She found that many teens lacked key executive functioning skills, which led to confusion, stress, and procrastination in their college admissions journeys. As a former admissions counselor, this deeply concerned her as she knew that thorough and comprehensive college application processes lead to the best outcomes for students in terms of mental health, finances and college success.
Hannah chose to diverge from the school setting so she could provide students with the individualized support they need to make the most of their college application journey. As an ADHDer herself, she is passionate about helping students tune into their strengths, enhance their executive functioning skills and be empowered in their college application journeys. BuildBrilliant is an extension of that passion and aims to be a empowering space for teens to build skills through the college application journey.
