About Me
John Chen loves walking alongside students as they discover their own clarity and confidence. After six years as a CPA with PricewaterhouseCoopers, he realized his real passion was coaching peers through difficult conversations, job interviews, and resume reviews — work he did informally for over 100 friends applying to college, graduate school, and medical school while working as a data analyst and management consultant at PwC.
When his wife Lynn began teaching College Essay Writing at Cupertino High School, John knew it was time to make the shift himself. A product of Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, he understands firsthand the pressure of hyper-competitive academic environments, and has worked as a college admissions coach since 2014, playing the role of encourager, advisor, counselor, and big brother to the families he works with — most excited by watching young people transform into who they're meant to become.
