With a rich background in both marketing and education, I bring a unique blend of skills to my role as Director of Academic Success at Carolina Youth Coalition.

My journey began as a Marketing Coordinator and Marketing Manager, where I honed my skills in strategic communication and campaign management over four years. Transitioning into education, I’ve leveraged this experience to effectively promote and enhance academic programs.

For six years, I’ve helped students achieve elite scores and gain admission to top colleges through personalized SAT & ACT test prep and tailored curriculum design. I have also designed engaging curriculum and developed comprehensive materials that address high school ELA skills, including reading and writing. My approach is holistic, focusing not just on academic skills but also on essential executive function skills like time management, habit building, and motivation.

In my previous role at an academic enrichment and test prep center, I gained invaluable experience in curriculum design and staff leadership. Now, as I lead in the non-profit sector, my passion for educational equity drives my commitment to ensuring all students, regardless of their financial background, have access to the resources and opportunities they need to excel.

About Me

Katie Weisman serves as Associate Director of Academic Success. Katie completed her Bachelors at the University of Texas in Austin in 2012. For the past four years, Katie has worked with hundreds of students at an academic enrichment and test prep center in New Jersey, where she helped high achieving students earn admission to the top colleges and high schools in the country. She also helped design test prep curriculum and led seminars to parents and students on college admissions, test prep success, and high school preparation.


During her time at this prestigious learning academy, Katie developed a strong desire to share the same expert resources, education, and opportunities to all students, regardless of socio-economic status. She strives to not only help students discover their passions and goals but also give them the tools to achieve those goals. She relocated to Charlotte, NC in 2021 with her husband Tyler and enjoys reading, writing, and bowling poorly.
