About Me

Joanne LaSpina is a Certified Educational Professional (CEP) — the highest certification available in the field — bringing over 20 years of professional experience in higher education, counseling, and writing. She's visited hundreds of college campuses and regularly participates in committee work and conferences to stay current on shifting admissions trends.

Joanne holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and counseling psychology, teaches for UC Irvine's IEC Certificate program, co-hosts IECA's College Conversations, mentors through IECA's Mentorship program, advises for ScholarMatch, and belongs to the Character Collaborative. She visits 25-30 colleges each year and is active in IECA, NACAC, and the Pennsylvania and New Jersey ACACs.
