As a parent, one day you are waving goodbye as your child begins elementary school; it seems like only a short time later college information is flooding your mailbox and your inbox.

Navigating the transition from high school to college can be both exciting and challenging for students and parents. With more than 2800 four year colleges in the United States and others around the globe, the opportunities can be overwhelming.

I can help.

By working with students and their families over several years, I understand and value each teenager’s experience and help identify appropriate colleges that meet their academic, social, and financial priorities. I believe that students thrive when they are encouraged to authentically pursue their interests which in turn leads to the strongest college applications.

About Me

After two decades in higher education, I enjoy sharing my expertise with students and parents as families navigate the high school to college transition. I maintain a small practice that emphasizes communication and personal attention.

My practice includes discussion and assistance with the following aspects of the college application process:
Development of college list
Mock interviews
Extracurricular activities
Teacher recommendations
Essay brainstorming and editing
Testing strategy and calendar
Application calendar (Early Decision, early action, and related plans)
Basic financial aid and scholarships

I work primarily with students from the greater Portland, Maine and Ann Arbor, Michigan areas. However, I am happy to consult with families from across the United States and abroad.
