Katie earned her bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara and her master’s degree from Purdue University. Prior to joining the ILUMIN team, Katie worked in higher education for over 9 years, gaining experience in student services and admissions supporting 1,000+ high school and university students. After transitioning to college consulting, Katie has mentored more than 80 students with interests ranging from STEM to humanities to social sciences. She is well-versed in guiding students from a diverse range of academic backgrounds toward their academic and career goals.

Katie’s expertise also extends to pre-college and summer programs. She served on the admissions committee for competitive research programs within the University of California and understands how to advise students to gain admission and succeed in these programs.

With a passion for helping students achieve their potential, Katie is dedicated to providing personalized guidance and support to every student. When working with Katie, you can expect a collaborative and encouraging approach. She wants students to find balance in their lives so they can not only progress toward their goals but also carve out time for activities they enjoy.

With this in mind, Katie enjoys trivia nights, trying new recipes, attending comedy shows, discovering new podcasts (open to suggestions), and running.
