About Me
Cheryl Coughlin, founder of BestFit College Advisors, has spent more than 30 years working with high school and college students as an educator, mentor, and advisor — including 13 years supporting students with learning differences through their transition beyond high school. Her background as a business teacher gave her a particular passion for teaching financial literacy to young people.
Cheryl earned her undergraduate degree from Salem State, a graduate degree in Higher Education Administration from Suffolk University, and completed graduate studies in Special Education at the University of Southern Maine, working at institutions from Burdett Business College to community colleges to public high schools along the way. After years of informally guiding students, she founded BestFit to help even more families find their spark. A member of IECA, HECA, NEACAC, LDA, and FBLA, she brings both professional and personal perspective as a mother of three who's guided her own children through the process.
