As a passionate lifelong learner and career educator, I am committed to supporting students and their families in a wide variety of academic pursuits. As the Owner of Mill Creek Academy, Co-Founder of College Consulting Experts, former high school teacher & student advisor, I am committed to maximizing student potential and minimizing familial stress. To increase access and reduce endless searching, I co-founded and launched CINCH, a database of summer program opportunities, internships and volunteer positions which engage self-exploration while enhancing one's academic profile. Since the fall of 2021, I have been honored to apply my experience to a new seasonal role as an undergraduate college admissions reader.

About Me


“Words are single units, but together they astound the mind, increase creativity, and bridge gaps.” This philosophy is Ms. Wong’s sole purpose for being an educator. She believes in the power of language and desires to motivate and guide students towards discovering the joy in learning as the Owner of Mill Creek Academy.

Energetic, passionate about literature, and personable are qualities that Ms. Wong is well-known for among her student and parent community.

Ms. Wong graduated from the University of California Irvine where she received a double B.A. in English and Psychology, in addition to a double minor in Education and Linguistics. Soon after, she decided to obtain her Master’s degree in Education at UC Berkeley. Ms. Wong also earned her Administrative Credential at San Jose State University. Ms. Wong has been part of the faculty at Mission San Jose High School where she taught 9th and 11th grade Honors and College Prep English from 2003-2013. In Fall 2016, Ms. Wong returned to the classroom at Mission San Jose High School to continue sharing her passion for literature with high school students.

While teaching at Mission San Jose High School, Ms. Wong served as Mission’s Peer Counseling teacher, Key Club International advisor, as well as Freshmen and Senior Class Advisor. She holds a C.L.A.D. (Cultural, Language, and Development) credential and is G.A.T.E certified. During her teaching experience, Ms. Wong also spent a great deal of her time working with students in the fourth to seventh-grade level through Clinton’s Academic Literacy Program.

Ms. Wong completed her College Admissions Counseling Certification from the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated with academic distinction.

As a seasonal admissions reader for Northeastern University, Ms. Wong finds it a privilege to support young people in their college endeavors.

Ms. Wong and her team are committed to assisting students through the college admissions process. During college season, Ms. Wong and her team will review on average 700+ college essay drafts and support submissions for hundreds of college applications.

Ms. Wong was named 2003 NUMMI New Promising Teacher of the Year for Fremont and recently received the Dorothy Wright Award for Outstanding High School Teacher from San Jose State University in 2011 and 2012.

Ms. Wong also recently co-authored The Ultimate Summer Program Guide which is a comprehensive resource book that helps students identify potential summer program opportunities. Her book is available on Amazon.
During her free time, she can be found writing children’s books for the elementary school grades, working on scrapbooking memories, and spending quality time with her family and three daughters.
