About Me
Jim Bell, M.Ed., spent 20 years in secondary education as a teacher, principal, head of school, and trainer of educators, becoming a sought-after speaker and mentor for faculties, school boards, and community groups — but his heart was always in working directly with students and families. As CEO and owner of Capstone College Advising, he's found the role that lets him devote his decades of experience to helping young people set and reach their goals.
A longtime Texas educator, Jim has helped students earn over $30 million in college scholarships, trained and supervised school counselors, consulted for Christian schools, and served on boards for organizations including several regional Chambers of Commerce, the Texas A&M–Central Texas Advisory Council, and as Vice President and then President of the Texas Christian Schools Association. Capstone is a family affair for Jim too — his wife Kelley, a high school counselor, previously served as a Capstone advisor, and his son was a Capstone student himself. Jim holds a B.S. in History from UT Tyler and an M.Ed. from Texas Christian University.
