About Me

Laurie Gordon has spent her entire career supporting children and adolescents, holding undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and social work from the University of Michigan. She began by counseling families through the adolescent transition to adulthood, taught parenting classes, and spent years as a School Social Worker in the 1990s before managing business and HR for Sandweiss Test Prep — where she realized how much she loved sharing college planning knowledge with parents and students.

Laurie went on to complete college counseling coursework at UC Irvine and UCLA, earning her Independent Educational Consultant certification in 2016. She believes it's never too early to start planning, ideally by sophomore or junior year, and is an Associate Member of IECA, plus a member of HECA, PNACAC, and SACC.
