About Me

Mark Montgomery brings a rare inside-the-university perspective to college admissions counseling, having served as Associate Dean at the University of Denver's Korbel School of International Studies, an admissions counselor for Fort Lewis College, and an external evaluator for teaching and learning programs at institutions including Yale and the University of Kansas.

An award-winning educator, Mark has taught at the University of Denver, Harvard, and Saint Mary's Academy in Denver, earned a teaching award from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and served as a Fulbright teacher in Grenoble, France. He directed the University of Denver's Model United Nations program for many years, guiding students in leadership, public speaking, and negotiation, and has volunteered as a counselor for AFS Intercultural Exchange. He holds a BA Cum Laude from Dartmouth and an MA and PhD in international relations from Tufts' Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and belongs to NACAC, HECA, CCHS/CR, and RMACAC. Mark lives in Colorado with his wife Laura and their two sons, where the family enjoys skiing, hiking, and ballroom dancing together — and he sings tenor, reads The Economist, and listens to NPR in his spare time.
