About Me

Emily Henning's passion for mentoring students through admissions grew partly from her own experience — as a high-achieving student at a large public high school with a 500-student counselor caseload, she had to navigate the college process largely on her own. Despite earning admission to multiple Ivy League schools, the University of Chicago, and Williams, the process was stressful for her whole family.

At Brown, Emily immediately joined a volunteer mentorship program pairing her with first-generation college applicants, discovering her passion for guiding students to schools they'd only dreamed of. Realizing her experience with limited guidance wasn't unique — the average U.S. high school counselor supports 375 students — she started her own consulting business after graduating, and now supports a broad range of students, from top performers aiming for selective schools to those just beginning to explore their options.
