Whether it’s helping a student shape their college list so they know they will have great options or helping a student fine tune their admissions essays, Emily takes pride in her ability to demystify the complex college application journey. With over a decade of experience working directly with students, she draws on her extensive background working with applicants across the country and internationally. Her successful track record, as well as her writing degree from Brown University, further enhances her ability to help students aim high, reduce stress, and gain admission to their best-fit schools.

Emily is committed to constant professional development and is an active associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association. When she’s not working directly with students, you can find her visiting college campuses, attending conferences, reading about admissions, and meeting with other education professionals. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on, writing poetry, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

About Me

My passion for mentoring students through the college admissions’ process stems partially from my own experience. As a high-achieving high schooler, I wanted the best college education possible– but the college counselor at my large public high school had over 500 students and was unable to offer personalized guidance. I had to learn to navigate the college admissions process by myself. Although I was thrilled with my results (admission to multiple Ivy League schools, University of Chicago, and Williams College, among others), my family and I were stressed during the entire college application process.

When I enrolled at Brown University, I immediately signed up for a volunteer mentorship program that paired me with first-generation college applicants. Guiding those students through the college admissions process– and often helping them earn admission to schools they only dreamed of– I discovered my passion for supporting students. I also discovered that my experience applying to college with limited professional guidance wasn’t unique. In fact, the average high school counselor in the United States supports 375 students. I was determined to help provide the dedicated and individualized support that I believe all students deserve, so when I graduated from Brown, I started my own educational consulting business. Since then, I have learned a tremendous amount, gaining crucial experience supporting students with a wide variety of personalities and goals.

I take pride in my ability to support a broad spectrum of students. Whether you’re a straight A student looking to stand out at top schools or a C student who’s just now exploring potential colleges, I can help you find— and get into— a school where you will thrive.
