About Me

Catherine Buttner, founder of My Course to College, feels fortunate to have found this career after 17 years as a math and science classroom teacher. She trained as a college consultant through UCLA's College Counseling Certificate Program and an internship in the college counseling office of an independent school near Boston.

Catherine draws on her varied career and volunteer background to meet each student's needs, pulling different "tools from the toolkit" as the situation calls for. She lives in Westwood, MA, where her two children attend public school, enjoys running, soccer, sailing, and reading in her spare time, and volunteers with ScholarMatch, supporting under-resourced students through college admissions.
