About Me

Ann Bruno spent years as Assistant Director of Admission and a longtime senior admission reader at Brown University, reading thousands of applications and building deep insight into the admissions process and the landscape of high school programs across the U.S. and abroad. Before launching ALB College Consulting, she spent 25 years working closely with students as a director of college counseling, class dean, English teacher, and advisor at schools including The Wheeler School, Lake Forest Academy, Boston College, Providence College, and Assumption College — including supporting first-generation students in the Upward Bound program with their personal statements.

Ann holds a BA in English and American Literature from Brown and an MA in English from Boston College. She's a published author of short stories and creative nonfiction, a yoga enthusiast, amateur gardener, and proud dog mom, and has been through the admissions process twice with her own two kids. At the heart of her practice is a belief that the college process can be a genuine journey of self-reflection — building lifelong skills in communication, decision-making, and resilience along the way.
