bio

Nina Rubinstein McDaniel brings more than a decade of experience in college admissions to the Romeyn Collective as a college counselor, essay specialist, alumni interviewer, and parent of teenagers. She works extensively with students with neurodivergence, learning differences, and diverse life circumstances. She firmly believes that success looks different for everyone.

About Me

Nina is committed to empowering her students through effective planning, unwavering support, and encouragement as they identify and achieve their goals. Drawing on her professional and personal experience, she emphasizes the importance of building strong connections and trust with each student.

In her consulting role, Nina takes a holistic approach, considering the whole student – how they learn, their social needs, interests, values, and aspirations. As an accountability partner, she adopts a hands-on approach to guide and mentor her clients through the college (or post-secondary) application process.

Based in San Diego, Nina collaborates with students across the country. When she’s not consulting, she loves boating, fishing, and horseback riding with her family, practicing yoga, reading, metal smithing, and coaching baseball for kids with special needs.
