About Me

Jacqueline (Jacquie) Schaefgen graduated from the University of Notre Dame cum laude with a BA in Economics and Business/ concentration in Philosophy, Politics, &
Economics. She worked in banking for almost 20 years specializing in credit and risk management, ascending to executive officer roles in multiple publicly traded regional
banks. Jacquie stepped away from the banking industry when her family moved to the East Coast for several years and the timing was perfect to leave one crazy fun stage of life for another, raising her three children. Jacquie focused on being a ‘hands-on’ helper to teens over the last decade, holding numerous leadership roles in school-based and youth service groups including a high school international baccalaureate program board.

Jacquie began formally educating herself to expand her college knowledge to support her own children's needs, as it became clear that college admissions can become a complicated, time consuming, and stressful process for both the students and the parents! Jacquie completed her Independent Educational Consultant Certificate
through UC Irvine and is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the Western Association College Admission Counseling (WACAC). She also completed the WOW College Essay Experience Training program and prides herself on helping students tell their authentic stories. She currently serves on the Board of You Run This Town Foundation- Orange County, where she is the
College Advising mentor and also teaches workshops on financial literacy for teens, college planning, and financial aid.

Jacquie loves to visit colleges because she feels the passion and hope of the student community when she steps on a campus, and it is an incredible view into our collective
bright future! She has visited more than 70 college campuses over the past 5 years. Jacquie is a devoted fan of Notre Dame football (go Irish!) and avid follower of the basketball teams of her daughters' schools (go Zags and go Blue Devils!). Her 17-year-old son helps her keep a pulse on what it's really like in the trenches of high school!
