He is originally from South Korea and moved to the States when he was fifteen. As a first-generation immigrant who overcame different obstacles, he understands each individual’s diverse cultural and learning backgrounds. He is passionate about helping students to achieve their goals and mentoring them closely to pursue their dream of becoming healthcare providers.He enjoys listening to his students’ stories and focusing on their strengths to customize the strategies for their applications/interviews. About Me


Dr. Bryan Shin is a first-year pediatric dental resident at Harvard University/Boston Children’s Hospital. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry.

Dr. Shin completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and his master’s degree in Kinesiology with two graduate concentrations at Miami University. During his undergraduate study, he was selected to serve as Pre-Health Living Learning Community Liaison to mentor pre-medicine/dental students in college residential communities to develop customized roadmaps during undergraduate studies. While obtaining his graduate degree, he worked as a graduate academic coach, mentoring undergraduate students in reviewing academic/job applications, CVs/resumes, personal statements, and interviews. During dental school, Dr. Shin served as a mentor for pre-dental students in Memphis, TN. He was also selected to serve as a teaching assistant for the pre-health scholars’ program at the University of Tennessee.
