About Me

Lena Brooks considers college advising her calling, combining her background in writing, research, and career path planning into one profession. Before becoming an advisor, she spent seven years as a freelance editor and proofreader, and before that, worked for years in the nonprofit sector writing grants and researching public policy for underserved communities — she's also served as an alumni interviewer and coordinated study abroad programs.

Lena holds a bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College and a master's from Columbia University, alongside extensive world travel, and earned her certificate in college counseling from UCLA Extension, graduating with distinction from her practicum. She's a proud alumna of Lowell High School in San Francisco, where her lifelong love of learning first took root.
