About Me

Alan Houghtaling brings two decades of experience working with children and adolescents to his leadership at Evolve — a career shaped by a recurring pattern he noticed early on, whether mediating disputes between Boston teens, organizing Ultimate Frisbee games in Newfoundland, or connecting with street kids in Guatemala: a genuine passion for working with young people.

Along the way, Alan has facilitated counseling for at-risk youth in Boston, led Outward Bound-style adventure trips built around rock climbing and backpacking, created after-school programs blending therapeutic and academic support, and completed mindfulness training he now brings into his work with students. He's also a managing partner and Academic Director at Reset Boston. Outside of work, Alan reads, writes, mountain bikes, and spends time with his wife — a yoga instructor and studio owner — and their ever-curious 9-year-old son.
