About Me
Laila Hilfinger has worked in college admissions for more than twenty years, graduating from Brown University with an A.B. in History and completing her master's at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs. From 1995 to 2014, she served as a Brown alumna interviewer in Seattle and northern New Jersey, interviewing hundreds of students and serving as Interviewing Program Area Chair for Western Washington.
The daughter of an international student and a UC Berkeley graduate, Laila understands the challenges today's students face — both of her sons navigated the process themselves, one graduating from Brown in computer science and economics, the other in mechanical engineering from Northwestern with an MBA from Michigan's Ross School. A member of HECA, PNACAC, and SACC, she's completed UC Riverside's College Counseling Certificate Program and volunteers with College Corps and College Access Now. Outside of work, she plays with the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra and teaches private violin and viola lessons.
