A Yale and Columbia Journalism grad, Eric serves on Southern Methodist University's Counselor Advisory Board after a career in independent school communications.

About Me

Eric Eagan began his college counseling career at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, where he also spent seven years as Director of Communications alongside roles as upper school advisor, class dean, and journalism instructor. Before independent schools, he spent a decade in corporate, nonprofit, and agency communications, with journalism appearing in the New York Times, Curbed, Ritz-Carlton Magazine, and NPR affiliate WWNO.

Eric holds a bachelor's in English from Yale (2004) and a master's from Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism (2009). He's an associate member of IECA, a member of NACAC, a graduate of the Stanley King Counseling Institute, and proudly serves on the Counselor Advisory Board of Southern Methodist University.
