After cracking the code on financial aid for her own daughter's debt-free graduation, Gigi founded College Connect 101 to help other families maximize merit and need-based aid.

About Me

Gigi Frye's work began with a personal challenge: finding clear, reliable information on funding her own daughter's college education wasn't easy, so she set out to demystify the process herself. Through extensive research and guidance from financial aid professionals, she developed a methodology for maximizing financial aid — one that helped her own daughter graduate from Loyola Marymount University completely debt-free.

That success led Gigi to found College Connect 101 in 2010, initially focused purely on financial aid. She later realized that helping students strengthen their overall applications also increased merit aid, broadening her practice to cover the full admissions process. She holds a Master of Arts in Behavioral Sciences from Cal State Dominguez Hills and is active in IECA and NACAC, continually visiting colleges and attending admissions workshops to stay current.
