Liz Benson has completed the UC Berkeley Extension College Admissions and Career Planning program and is an active member of the Independent Education Consultants Association. She also reads admission applications for the University of California, volunteers for the Matchlighters Scholars Program, and is a continual learner in the college admissions field via college visits, countless webinars, and every resource she can find.

About Me

After graduating from San José State University with a degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry, Liz earned a teaching credential and taught high school science for five years. She shifted careers to work in Silicon Valley where she held business development and strategic alliance management roles. She spent the last part of her career in high tech working at HP Inc. and engaged with a partner list that included, NVIDIA, Adobe, Google, Microsoft, and many others.

Liz brings this unique breadth of experience to her college counseling practice where she is passionate about lighting the path for students to their very best college experience. She also believes in providing students with direct exposure to today’s careers, industries, and technologies as part of their college, major, and career explorations so they can better imagine their bright futures.
