About Me
Jared Hobson serves as President of Great College Advice, leading the firm's strategic direction alongside sales, marketing, and counseling work. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance (with Distinction) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management, where he served as an admissions reader and interviewer on Cornell's Student Admissions Committee — experience that gives him firsthand insight into how selective colleges evaluate applicants.
Before college admissions consulting, Jared spent 25 years in investment management, researching and analyzing public companies — skills that translate directly into evaluating fit and helping students present a clear, compelling story in their applications. Just as he once visited company headquarters to understand culture and leadership, Jared regularly visits college campuses and speaks with admissions officers, students, and faculty to keep his guidance current.
A native of rural Wisconsin, Jared lives outside Denver with his wife and two daughters, and enjoys skiing, travel, and long dog walks.
