After 20 years managing 300 students a year as a school counselor, Michelle now works with a small group annually to give each one genuine attention.

About Me

Before launching Cole College Consulting, Michelle Cole spent 20 years as a high school counselor in Southern California and Colorado, often managing 300 students a year. While she loved the work, she realized she couldn't meet every student's individual needs at that scale — and discovered her real passion was helping students figure out where they wanted to go to college. As an independent consultant, she now works with a small number of students each year, allowing her to truly get to know each one.

Michelle has worked at large, competitive high schools and with neurodiverse and homeschooled students alike, and has visited over 150 college campuses to build firsthand knowledge of each one. She stays current through IECA, CCC, and ASCA, holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master's in counseling, and — outside of work — can usually be found hiking, reading, or traveling with her family.
