About Me
Dr. Shannon received his PhD in Pathology from the University of Cambridge. His research explored immune mechanisms controlling or exacerbating viral infections in barrier tissues. Throughout his PhD, he contributed to 14 publications and earned recognition through the Norman P. Salzman Memorial Graduate Student Award in Basics and Clinical Virology. Dr. Shannon actively mentored numerous recent undergraduates, not only within the lab environment but also in guiding their future aspirations. This included formulating individualized career plans, selecting schools aligned with their interests, providing assistance with personal statements and application reviews, conducting interview preparation, and aiding in decision-making for the best next steps.
