A UC Irvine-certified consultant and mother of three who've been through admissions herself, Kristin tours campuses annually and attends national conferences twice a year.

About Me

Kristin Leffler founded North Star to guide clients through the labyrinth of college admissions, evaluating each student's strengths and goals to help them find schools where they'll genuinely be happy and successful. She earned her BA in Communications from the University of Washington, completed the Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program at UC Irvine (150 hours of evaluated coursework), and completed the IEC Summer Training Institute at Swarthmore in 2017. She's an Associate Member of IECA and a member of the Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling.

Kristin visits several college campuses each year to meet with admissions officers and students, attends national conferences twice a year, and meets weekly with colleagues to stay current on the admissions landscape. She lives in Lake Forest Park, WA with her husband and two dogs, and as the mother of three young adults who've each been through the admissions process, she understands firsthand the nerves and family tension the journey can bring.
