Kristin attended the University of Washington where she earned a BA in Communications. She successfully completed the Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program at the University of California-Irvine, representing 150 hours of evaluated learning. Kristin also completed the Independent Educational Consultant Summer Training Institute at Swarthmore College in 2017. She is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), as well as a member of the Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling.

As founder of North Star Kristin is focused on guiding every client through the labyrinth of college admissions and helping them present their best selves on their applications. By evaluating each student’s strengths and identifying their goals she believes she can guide students to find schools where they will be happy and successful.

Kristin visits several college campuses each year to meet with admissions officers and students in order to better understand what each campus has to offer. She attends national conferences bi-annually and meets virtually with colleagues weekly to stay informed of the admissions landscape.

Kristin resides in Lake Forest Park, WA with her husband and two dogs. She is the mother of three young adults and has been through the college admissions process with each of them. Thus, she understands first-hand how nerve-wracking the process can be and the family tension it can cause.

Kristin’s education, professional and personal experiences provide her an excellent platform for supporting students and their families as they make the journey through the college admissions process.
