A Hampshire College Women's Studies grad, Jessica serves on IECA's Learning Differences committee and studies at Landmark College.

About Me

Jessica Applestone has worked with students across the Hudson Valley, greater New York, and nationwide since 2016. Her own senior year of high school, filled with excitement and uncertainty about her path, was transformed by an independent college counselor who helped her find the school where she truly thrived — an experience that ignited her passion for this field.

A professional writer and former journalist, Jessica brings a storyteller's eye to teaching students to craft compelling essays, along with an entrepreneurial background in marketing and communication. She holds a BA in Women's Studies and Journalism from Hampshire College and a Certificate in College Counseling from UC Irvine, is currently studying diverse learners at Landmark College, and serves on IECA's Learning Differences committee. Since 2020, she's also served as college counselor for College Connect, supporting first-generation students in the Hudson Valley, where she lives with her husband, son, and four dogs.
